I am an MD Candidate (Class of 2017) at the Michael G. De Groote School of Medicine at McMaster University and recent recipient of the Anthony S. Fell Canadian Medical Hall of Fame Award in honour of Dr. Michael Baker for medical students who show "outstanding potential as future leaders and innovators in health care in Canada."
I also have a PhD in Sociology (University of Alberta), where my doctoral research was supported by a SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholarship and Killam Memorial Scholarship.
My PhD thesis on Environmental Health and Sustainable Design was nominated for a Governor General's Award.
I have studied and taught in Canada, France, and the Netherlands, where I am an Affiliated Fellow at the Centre for the Humanities at Utrecht University.
I love photography and have experience as a nature, travel, portrait, and street photographer.
My photographs are featured in academic and popular publications and I have been
commissioned to photograph special events.
